Prep roundup: O’Dell leads Catholic girls

Christina O'Dell tallied 14 points and eight rebounds as Charleston Catholic downed host Poca 43-29 Monday in girls high school basketball.

Samantha Fletcher also contributed 13 points for the Fighting Irish (5-7).

McKenzie Ball had eight points for the Dots (4-8).

  • SPRING VALLEY 51, GW 41: The host Timberwolves used a 17-2 run in the second half en route to their ninth straight win.
  • Sarah Kelly tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds for AAA No. 5 Spring Valley (9-2) and Madison Morris and Kassidy Lemons added 11 points apiece. Morris also grabbed 12 boards.

    Kelli Jo Harrison led all scorers with 18 points and landed 13 rebounds for No. 10 George Washington (6-4), which pulled within 24-22 early in the third quarter.

  • LOGAN 52, TOLSIA 47: The Wildcats jumped out to a 13-5 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back.
  • Shayna Gore turned in a game-high 25 points to go along with six assists and nine rebounds for Class AAA Logan (7-3) and Monica Mitchell added 15 points and 11 boards.

    Savannah Winnett scored 15 points and 11 rebounds for AA No. 10 Tolsia (8-3) and Krista Maynard tallied 14 and 12 boards.

  • WESTSIDE 65, SUMMERS COUNTY 32: Hope Lester scored 20 points and Megan Endicott contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds as Class AA No. 1 Westside (11-0) rolled to a home victory.
  • Brandy Morrison had 12 points for Summers County.

  • MOUNT VIEW 76, LIBERTY RALEIGH 22: Jordan Younger, Gezelle Brown, and Keisha Johnson each had 12 points as Mount View coasted at home. Jasmine Lash had 11 points for the Golden Knights and Tamia Joyce pitched in with 10 points.
  • Stacy Williams had 12 points for Liberty Raleigh.

  • SHERMAN 57, GREATER BECKLEY 32: Visiting Sherman led 34-16 at halftime and cruised. Jordan Lewis scored 17 points to lead all scorers while Sarah Massey chipped in 16 for the Tide (6-6).
  • Jana Lehman scored 10 points to lead Greater Beckley Christian.

  • TEAYS VALLEY 36, HANNAN 30: Olivia Moore had 12 points and visiting Teays Valley Christian scored a win on the road.
  • Chelsea Meadows led all scorers with 15 points for Hannan.

  • CLAY 63, SOUTH HARRISON 3: Brittany Gould poured in 23 points for host Clay County (12-1).
  • McKinzee Barker added 15 points for the Class AA No. 3 Panthers.

  • NICHOLAS 81, OAK HILL 10: Shealyn Shafer scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Class AA No. 5 Nicholas County rolled to a win.
  • Nicole Hamilton added 10 points for the Grizzlies (11-1).

  • CROSS LANES 63, GRACE 46: Courtney Kendrick exploded for 28 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocks as Cross Lanes Christian earned a home win.
  • Julianna Lowery chipped in 14 points for Cross Lanes (11-4). Alex Nelson had 21 points for Grace Christian.

  • POCAHONTAS 41, TYGARTS 39: Heather Snead scored on a layup as time expired Pocahontas County won at home. Olivia Workman scored 13 points to lead the Warriors.
  • Shanda Howell scored 15 points to lead Tygarts Valley.

    Boys basketball

  • RIVERSIDE 51, OAK HILL 50: Riverside used a 17-7 fourth quarter run for a come from behind win over host Oak Hill.
  • Nick Light netted 16 points for the Warriors (6-6), while Tyus Wood chipped in 13.

    Deon Marion tallied a game-high 22 points for Oak Hill (2-7).

  • GREEN. EAST 75, COVINGTON 41: Rondale Watson scored 16 points and Bryce Woodliff scored 10 as Class AAA No. 4 Greenbrier East rolled on the road. Obi Romeo added eight points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks for the Spartans (12-0).
  • Raquawn Matthews had 12 points for Covington, Va. (2-10) and Troy Hilton scored 11.

  • PARK. SOUTH 85, PARKERSBURG 52: Wes Mitchem scored 24 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and handed out five assists as Class AAA No. 7 Parkersburg South (9-2) rolled at home. Logan Cox and Dylon Rippeto added 11 points each and Cody Monroe tallied 10 points.
  • Trevor Britton had 16 points to pace the Big Reds while Ben Umpleby scored 13.

  • CROSS LANES 38, GRACE 28: Tyler Corbin netted 13 points as Cross Lanes Christian (8-8) won at home. Kris Adkins had 10 points for Grace Christian (1-8).
