CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Up to 19 players have committed to Marshall's recruiting class of 2013, including the two midyear junior college signees.

Athlete Shykeem Pitts of Davenport, Fla., announced his commitment Saturday via Twitter. Reports surfaced Sunday of the commitment of another prospect, running back Tony Pittman of Hampton, Va.

Pitts, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound player from Ridge Community School in Florida's Polk County, is rated with three stars by Rivals, but two by Scout and ESPN.com. He had reported offers from Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

Pittman, a 5-11, 200-pound student of Phoebus High, had a wider list of reported offers, including Mississippi, Cincinnati, Syracuse, Miami (Fla.), Northern Illinois and home-area Old Dominion.

Last week, the Herd also gained a reported commitment from safety Neville Hewitt from Georgia Military College.

In December, Marshall signed defensive end Arnold Blackmon and safety Taj Letman. For the rest of the recruits, national signing day is Feb. 6.
