  • Freshman cross country runner Sydney Scott placed sixth at the U.S. Cross Country Championships with a time of 21:11.3 on Saturday in St. Louis.
  • The WVU gymnastics team scored a season-best 196.05 and finishing second in its home and Big 12 opener Friday night at the Coliseum.

  • TABLE TENNIS: The Charleston Table Tennis Club will host the West Virginia Open Table Tennis tournament Feb. 23 in Charleston. The tournament is open to anyone regardless of residency and the entry fee is $30 per event. To register, contact Dale Goff at (304) 415-8685.

  • WVU WOMEN HOOPS: West Virginia hosts nationally ranked Oklahoma at 1 p.m. today in a Big 12 matchup at the Coliseum. The game will be televised on Root Sports.

    The Mountaineers (12-8 overall, 4-5 Big 12) look to avenge an earlier 71-68 loss Jan. 2 to the No. 21 Sooners (16-4, 6-2). Taylor Palmer canned eight 3-pointers and finished with 30 points as WVU led until the final 4:55.

  • MU WOMEN HOOPS: Marshall looks for its first Conference USA win as it takes on Memphis in the Cam Henderson Center at 2 p.m. today.

    The Herd is 6-13 (0-6 C-USA) after taking a 54-47 loss to East Carolina in Greenville, N.C. on Thursday. Erica Woods led Marshall with 14 points after going 5-for-7 from the field and adding two 3-pointers.

  • BIG 12 TICKETS: Tickets for the Big 12 men's basketball championship will go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday at the Mountaineer ticket office.

    Tickets, which are $340 for a tournament ticket package, are available to all 2012-13 Mountaineer Athletic Club members and all West Virginia University students.

    MAC members are limited to four tickets per account and may be ordered at the ticket office in the Coliseum or by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME. Students must have a valid identification and may only buy one ticket in person at the ticket office.

  • WVU FAN CLUB: The Charleston WVU Fan Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Golden Corral in Cross Lanes.

    The speaker will be Quincy Wilson of the Mountaineer coaching staff, who will discuss the 2013 recruiting class.
