Terrale Clark scored 12 points and Jaren Marino was also in double figures with 10 points, but it was not enough for WVU Tech as the Golden Bears men's basketball team lost 73-52 Tuesday night at Southern Virginia.
Tech (18-11) trailed 27-26 at halftime but was outscored by Southern Virginia 46-26 in the second half.
Isaac Jacobson finished with a game-high 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Southern Virginia (15-6) while guard Casey Nye added 16 points.
WVU Tech closes its regular season Saturday at WVU Parkersburg.
WVC BASEBALL: Concord senior shortstop Josh Wenger was named the National College Baseball Writers Association Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week. Wenger, who was also named the WVC Player of the Week on Monday, went 9 for 13 with 12 RBIs, two home runs (including a grand slam) and three runs in the Mountain Lions' three games.
WVC HOOPS: Glenville State's women's team moved up to No. 12 in this week's USA Today Sports Division 2 Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Pioneers (24-2, 19-1 WVC) were ranked No. 16 last week and lead the country in scoring with 96.6 points per game.
