With two games left until the end of the regular season, West Virginia State and the University of Charleston hit the road tonight seeking to improve their seed in the upcoming West Virginia Conference tournament.
The Yellow Jackets (10-16 overall, 7-13 WVC) visit Bluefield State (3-21, 3-17) at 7:30 p.m. State currently resides in 11th place in the WVC, but a win over the Blues could potentially vault the Jackets into 10th.
Charleston (17-7, 13-7) travels to Wheeling Jesuit (16-8, 13-7) in a matchup of top-5 teams in the league. The Cardinals hold a slight edge over No. 5 UC in the conference ratings, but a win over Jesuit would vault UC into the No. 4 slot.
The Golden Eagles wrap up their season Saturday against the Yellow Jackets. That game is set for 4 p.m. in Institute.
The Hilltoppers, who have already clinched the 2012-13 WVC regular-season championship and are ranked No. 3 nationally, are joined by Fairmont State (No. 3), Alderson-Broaddus (No. 7) and Wheeling Jesuit (No. 10) in the Atlantic Region poll.
The regional rankings will be released two more times before the final NCAA tournament selections on March 10.
WVU SOCCER: The West Virginia women's team will take part in six matches during its 2013 spring schedule, announced Wednesday.
