Roundup: Herd women fall

Jamierra Faulkner netted 24 points as Southern Miss improved to 13-14 with a 68-61 win over Marshall in women's basketball Thursday night at the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington.

Suporia Dickens pace the Herd (9-18) with 19 points while Shay Weaver chipped in 17.

  • WVU SPORTS: The West Virginia men's soccer team will play a six-game spring schedule, highlighted by a game against the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer.

    The spring season opens on the road against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Professional Division on March 22. The Mountaineers will then host Navy on April 6, followed by games at Pitt on April 13, at St. Francis (Pa.) on April 21 and home on April 26 for the annual alumni game. WVU will finish the season in April 28 at 11 a.m. against the Columbus Crew. It will be the third consecutive season WVU has played an MLS team.

  • The West Virginia women's basketball game with defending national champion Baylor at 7 p.m. at Saturday at the WVU Coliseum will air tape-delayed on ROOT Sports Pittsburgh at 10 p.m.
