  • WVC HONORS: West Virginia State's Kelsey Lorraine was named the West Virginia Conference softball pitcher of the week while Concord's Becca Gleason was tabbed for player of the week honors.

Lorraine guided the Yellow Jackets to a 4-1 week. She worked 13 innings and struck out 21 batters, allowing just three runs. For good measure, she smacked a game-winning three-run homer in a victory over Edinboro.

  • Concord's Jerrod Groves has been named the West Virginia Conference baseball player of the week while Shepherd's Paul Hvozdovic has earned pitcher of the week accolades.
  • Groves paced the Mountain Lions to a perfect 5-0 week, registering a .571 batting average with nine RBIs, nine runs and two stolen bases.
