6-9 Senegal native commits to Herd basketball
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Needing to sign a big man or two, Marshall has landed a men's basketball commitment from 6-foot-9 Senegal native Cheikh Tidiane Sane, who announced his decision Tuesday via Twitter.
Playing for Snow College in Utah, Sane averaged 10.2 points and 9.1 rebounds in just 24.7 minutes per game, shooting 55 percent from the floor and blocking 49 shots. He helped Snow to a 20-12 record.
Sane would be the third junior-college prospect in coach Tom Herrion's recruiting class, joining 6-4 Justin Edmonds and 6-6 Shawn Smith. Others coming on board are former Louisville commitment Ryan Taylor, a 2012-13 nonqualifier, and Ohio transfer TyQuane Goard.
The spring signing period begins April 17.
