Miranda Hall blasted a two-run homer for the Raiders (12-0) and Kelsie Nichols went 2 for 3 with a triple. Summer Collins and Chastidy Wiley had two hits apiece for the Wildcats (6-8).SC 1, RIPLEY 0: Emily Bostic's single in the bottom of the seventh inning was the Black Eagles' only hit of the game, but it brought Oliva Orcutt in to score from first base for a walk-off win against visiting Ripley. SC pitcher Alli Burdette had 14 strikeouts, while Ripley's Chelsea Hager fanned 10 Black Eagles in the loss.CATHOLIC SWEEPS VAN: Brianna Ross went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs as Charleston Catholic earned a 13-5 win to open a prep softball doubleheader at Van. In the nightcap, Emma Sovick (2 for 4) collected five RBIs as the Irish won 16-1.
NITRO 4, CAPITAL 3: Nicole Brown drove home the game-winning run as Nitro slipped past visiting Capital. Brown finished the night 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Wildcats (5-8) while Chelsea Hall and Shelby Bowen each had two hits. Razhane Andrews and Victoria McGinnis had one hit apiece for the Cougars.RIVERSIDE 10, GREEN. EAST 0: Hannah Coleman collected three hits and four RBIs as host Riverside picked up a four-inning mercy-rule win. BaseballVALLEY 10, FAYETTEVILLE 0: Valley's Arik McGinnis scattered four hits and struck out 12 in a six-inning mercy-rule shutout over host Fayetteville.
McGinnis also contributed at the plate going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Greyhounds (11-4) while Raeshawn Breckenridge, Joseph Eckert and Mark Hess had two hits apiece. James Criss went 2 for 3 for Fayetteville (8-8).WOODROW 5, SC 2: Hunter Greco went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs as Woodrow Wilson earned a road win over South Charleston. LacrosseGW 13, HOOVER 5: Jack Bunn netted two goals as host George Washington downed Herbert Hoover. Sam Skinner, Andrew Rabel and Cameron Stroebel each scored two goals for the Patriots (7-1). Herbert Hoover was led by Josh Coleman with two goals and Troy Silber with two assists.
