Prep baseball: 11-run 4th carries Hurricane past Capital

Hurricane erupted for 11 runs in the fourth inning as the Redskins cruised to a 15-1 five-inning mercy-rule high school baseball win over visiting Capital Tuesday.

J.T. Rogoszewski went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for Hurricane (15-3) while Riley Metz had two hits and drove home two runs. Austin Hupt went 1 for 2 with an RBI double for the Cougars.

  • CHAS. CATHOLIC 10, PARK. CATHOLIC 5: Connor Golden went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs as Charleston Catholic posted a home win over Parkersburg Catholic at Triana Field.
  • Kiefer Hovorka and Andy Hoyer contributed two hits apiece for the Fighting Irish (12-5). Mitch Davis went 3 for 3 with a double for Parkersburg Catholic.

  • RAVENSWOOD 9, ROANE 2: Trey Hatcher went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs as Ravenswood secured a home win.
  • Devon Crews also had a pair of hits and an RBI for the Red Devils. Quentin Corbit posted a double for Roane County.

  • MEIGS 5, WAHAMA 4: Meigs (Ohio) scored its runs in the first three innings as the Marauders (8-7) downed Wahama in a five-inning rain-shortened contest. Dakota Sisk and Tyler Grimm each had a hit for the White Falcons (7-5).

  • TUG VALLEY 13, TOLSIA 9: Tug Valley exploded for eight runs in the third inning as the Panthers outlasted Tolsia at home. Mikey Newsome went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs for Tug Valley while Trevin Horn added a hit and drove in three runs. Dakota Robertson and Skylar Wolford had two hits apiece for the Rebels.
  • CROSS LANES 19, TUG VALLEY 4: Chris Kennedy went 2 for 4 with four RBIs as Cross Lanes Christian earned a road victory. Chase Williams also had two hits and drove home a run for Cross Lanes. Trevin Horn, Jordon Mounts and Aaron Muncy had two hits apiece for Tug Valley.
