Prep roundup: Hurricane blanks St. Albans
Austin Hensley and Trey Dawson combined on a one-hit shutout as host Hurricane rolled to a 9-0 win against St. Albans in a high school baseball game on Monday.
Hensley went six innings, striking out five and yielding just a Bobby Grishaber single in the fifth inning before Dawson closed it out in the seventh.
J.T. Rogoszewski took care of the offensive load for Class AAA No. 1 Hurricane (17-3), going 3 for 3 with a double and five RBIs. Hensley also added a double and drove in three runs to help his own cause.
No. 10 St. Albans fell to 14-5.
Bryan Bosley added two hits, including a double for the Generals. Zach Lively contributed two hits and an RBI for the Black Eagles (11-8).
Benji Adkins singled in a pair of runs for Logan (13-4) and Johnny Morrison surrendered just one infield single and fanned six. Ethan Clark, the No. 9 hitter, singled for the Wildcats (13-5).
It was the second 4 for 4 game in three days for Minnick, who did the same thing Saturday against Bridgeport.
The Patriots scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh just to get the game to extra innings.
Thomas Sturm and Nic Ballard each had a pair of hits and RBIs for Ravenswood, which had an eight-game win streak halted.
Frampton doubled three times and Cottrill once for Poca (14-6) and Brenden Iezzi had a pair of hits and drove in two runs.

For the Eagles (3-14), Greg Bly went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Chance Oney had a home run. Austin Thomas settled down after a shaky start for the Huskies (18-1) and did not allow a run after the second inning.
Jacob Williams and Austin Hupp each had two RBIs for the Cougars (10-13). Wes Stowers went 2 for 4 for Red Devils (6-13).
Chad Williams had a pair of hits with a home run and two RBIs for the Warriors.
Ty Warnimount chipped in with a home run and two RBIs for the Blue Devils (15-1). For Point Pleasant, Jacob Gardener drove in the lone run.
Garrett Miller added two hits and a double for the White Falcons, while Hunter Bradley chipped in a double.

Hager helped herself at the plate, smacking a double and driving home a pair of runs for the Vikings (17-6). Rachel Ward had the lone hit for the Patriots.
