CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Pat Carter and Julius Pollock Jr. will be honored in November as the fifth class of the West Virginia Golf Hall of Fame, the West Virginia Golf Association announced Tuesday.
Carter, who resides in Huntington, is a 13-time West Virginia Amateur champion, just two titles shy of tying the record of 15 set by inaugural Hall of Fame member Bill Campbell. Carter, the reigning Amateur and Mid-Amateur champion, captured 10 straight Amateurs from 1995-2004. He was also inducted in the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.
Pollock of Wheeling was the inaugural Amateur champion at the Fairmont Field Club in 1913. He claimed nine Amateur titles spanning three decades, the last coming in 1931.
