CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Power shut out Greensboro 3-0 Friday morning to win its first series at home this season.

West Virginia (12-16) notched its first run in the first inning on a D.J. Crumlich double, scoring Josh Bell. Ashley Ponce hit a two-out double in the second that was misplayed by Greensboro's Cameron Flynn, allowing Francisco Diaz to score.

The Power added its third run in the fifth when Ponce reached on a single, advanced to third on a wild pitch and error, and scored on a balk by losing pitcher Ramon Del Orbe (0-2).

Orlando Castro (3-2) earned the victory with a season-high seven strikeouts. He allowed three hits in six innings.
