CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Beni Kedem Shrine Center will hold a golf tournament at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start May 18 at Big Bend Golf Course in Tornado. All profits from the tournament will be split between the Beni Kedem Shrine Center's Transportation Fund and hospitals at Lexington and the Burn Center in Cincinnati.
Shriners International has 22 hospitals and has treated more than 1 million children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate -- regardless of the family's ability to pay. The Beni Kedem Shrine Center serves areas from Jackson County to the Virginia border south and Kentucky on the west to the Virginia border on the east.
The Transportation Fund pays for the patient's and guardian's expenses to and from the hospital, food and motel if required, and the special plane to transport burn patients to Cincinnati.
