Power wins at Lakewood; Chaos game suspended

The West Virginia Power defeated the Lakewood BlueClaws 4-3 Friday night in Lakewood, N.J.

Stetson Allie continued his hot streak, hitting his league-leading 15th home run in the fourth inning, and Junior Sosa drove in two runs in the seventh. Power starter Orlando Castro (6-3) allowed just one earned run with five strikeouts in six innings.

The Power (30-25) play the third game of a four-game series against Lakewood (22-31) at 7:05 tonight.

  • CHAOS GAME SUSPENDED: A power failure suspended the West Virginia Chaos game against the Northern Virginia Royals in the 77th with the Chaos leading 2-1 Friday at Schoenbaum Soccer Stadium.

    Mulu Asihel got the Royals (0-1-1) on the board first before James Pucci headed in the equalizer for the Chaos in the 65th minute on a cross from player/coach Petsa Ivanovic. Pau Delgado gave West Virginia (1-2) the lead in the 72nd minute, slipping a shot past Royals keeper Lewis Amos.

    The teams will conclude the suspended game at 6:15 tonight, then follow that with their regularly scheduled game at 7:30.
