Fourteen golfers qualified for the West Virginia Open on Wednesday at Lakeview Resort's qualifier.
Stonewood's Justin Caroli earned low medalist honors with an even-par 72. Junior golfer Matt Walters of Berkeley Springs qualified with a score of 73, Fairmont's Jess Ferrell and Morgantown's Trenton McPherson each finished with a 75, Green Bank's Chad Baldwin and Morgantown's Ryan Dean qualified with 76s.
Qualifying with scores of 77 were Morgantown's Brian Bailey, Eric Wirth and Joshua Arbaugh along with Bridgeport's Christian Hitt. John Kingora and Skip Heiskell from Morgantown each turned in a 78, as did Steve Superick from Uniontown, Pa. Buckhannon's Christopher Brady rounds out the list of qualifiers with a 79.
Also scoring 79s were alternates Todd Williams from Grafton and Thomas Krpicak from Morgantown.
Registration for all July Senior Series tournaments will begin this Friday. Venues include Bridge Haven GC, Twisted Gun GC, The Woods Resort and Cacapon State Park. For more information, visit www.wvga.org.

Robert C. Byrd's Iziah Hill, Martinsburg's Jordan Robinson, Parkersburg South's Doug Dennis, Fairmont Senior's Shaquille Washington and University's Deion Cunningham will suit up for the North.
