GREENSBORO, N.C. - West Virginia starter Pat Ludwig improved to 5-0 as the Power defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers 6-4 Saturday.
Ludwig struck out four batters and gave up only three hits in five innings. Closer John Creasy recorded his third save, getting three strikeouts in the ninth.
The Power scored three runs in the first inning, two in the second and another in the third. West Virginia shortstop Max Moroff drove in two runs while first baseman D.J. Crumlich and third baseman Eric Wood each drove in one. The other two Power runs were scored on errors, as Greensboro committed four.
The Power (37-32) will play the third game of its four-game series with Greensboro (32-36) at 7:05 tonight.
