Herd football lands two

Marshall landed commitments from two recruits Monday, wide receiver-safety Keion Davis of Fairburn, Ga., and defensive tackle Ja'Ree Tolbert of Miami Springs, Fla.

That pushes the Herd's number of reported football recruits to eight.

Tolbert, 6-foot-2 and 270 pounds, is being called one of South Florida's top defensive tackles, showing good athletic ability in late 2012 at the Step It Up Combine in Miami.

Davis (6-0, 185) of Langston Hughes High, about 20 miles southwest of Atlanta, is rated three stars by Scout.com as a safety. Davis joins receivers Reese Wooten and Alex Cason and quarterback Cole Garvin as commitments from the Peach State, from where MU recruiting coordinator Todd Hartley hails.
