Game suspended with Power leading 3-0

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Wednesday's West Virginia Power game against the Kannapolis Intimidators at CMC-NorthEast Stadium was suspended due to rain in the top of the fourth inning with the Power leading 3-0.

West Virginia took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a run-scoring double by Josh Bell. Raul Fortunato and Francisco Diaz added two Power runs in the second on an error and a ground out to push the lead to 3-0.

Play will resume at 5:05 p.m. today with Fortunato on first base after leading off the fourth with his second single of the game and Francisco Diaz at the plate with a count of 0-1. The game will be played to a full nine innings, while the regularly scheduled game will follow and be a seven- inning contest.

The Power (9-8) will travel to Asheville, N.C., Friday for a four-game series against the Tourists before returning to Appalachian Power Park for a seven-game homestand beginning Wednesday.
