Roundup: Power suspended, will resume Monday

The West Virginia Power's game at Asheville on Sunday was suspended in the third inning due to unplayable grounds with the score tied 2-2.

The game will be resumed at 5:05 p.m. today and played the full nine innings. Today's regularly scheduled game will follow and will be shortened to seven innings.

  • The Power also made a roster move before Sunday's game, as right-hander Cesar Lopez was promoted from Jamestown to replace lefty pitcher Thomas Harlan, who was promoted to Bradenton.

  • CORRECTION: Men's open singles No. 1 seed Patrick Walker won his second-round match in the Charleston Public Courts tournament on Saturday, defeating Faron Williamson 6-1, 6-0. The result that appeared in Sunday's editions was incorrectly reported to the Gazette.
