ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Francisco Diaz went a combined 4 for 8, including a pair of home runs and four RBIs, as Asheville took a pair of South Atlantic League games from West Virginia Monday evening at McCormick Field, 10-7 and 3-1.
The first game was a completion of a contest suspended Sunday due to unplayable conditions and the second game was a seven-inning contest.
In game one, Chris Diaz also added three hits, including a double for the Tourists (12-11). Alving Mejias (3-3) earned the win, allowing one run on two hits over three innings of relief.
Barrett Barnes posted a home run and two doubles for the Power (12-11). Luis Heredia (1-2) took the loss, giving up eight runs on seven hits in 32/3 innings while walking four and striking out four.
In the nightcap, T.J. Oakes (8-5) pitched a solid six innings to get the win for Asheville as the Power could only muster one run on four hits off the starter.
Rayan Gonzalez picked up his ninth save of the season. Cesar Lopez (0-1) was tabbed with the loss for West Virginia, allowing two runs on four hits over 12/3 innings of relief.
