CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Megan Johnson, a former state player of the year at George Washington, has been hired as the school's girls soccer coach.
The 22-year-old Johnson was a three-time first-team all-state pick with the Patriots, and was also selected as a prep All-America in her junior season (2007). In addition, she was a four-year performer at Alderson-Broaddus, finishing up last fall.
Johnson replaces Derek Ragle, who left to coach at Hurricane. Ragle guided the Patriots to last year's girls AAA title game, where they lost to Winfield 4-2 in overtime.
