The Marshall men's basketball team concluded its five-day Canadian tour with a 5-0 record after an 83-71 win over A Game Hoops Tuesday at Burridge Gymnasium on the campus of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Senior Elijah Pittman scored a team-high 22 points on 9-of-21 shooting and had eight rebounds. Redshirt freshman Kareem Canty had 16 points, four assists and four rebounds while sophomore Tamron Manning rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Herd with 11 points and added five assists.
Pittman led all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including two 3-pointers. He also added nine rebounds and two blocks. Canty scored 15 points and had four assists.
TRI-STATE GOLF: PGA professional Scott Davis finished in a tie for ninth place in the Tri-State PGA Namsco Plastics Industries Seven Springs Open Tuesday at Champion, Pa.
Davis finished with a two-round total of 142, while winner Kevin Shield of The Club At Nevillewood shot 138 and held off Jason Robinson of Dick's Sporting Goods in a one-hole sudden death playoff.
Jonathan Clark of Sleepy Hollow Golf Club posted a 144 to finish in a four-way tie for 14th.
WVU TENNIS: Miha Lisac was named the West Virginia women's head coach Tuesday.
Lisac finished his sixth season as head coach of the Georgia State women's tennis program during the 2012-13 season. Lisac, the 2009 Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year, took over the head coaching position in the summer of 2007 after serving as the men's assistant coach from 2005-07.
