Football: Friday's late games
The decisive score occurred with 11:44 remaining in the fourth quarter. With the game tied at 8 and Valley facing third-and-9 from its own 18-yard line, Breckenridge connected with Druw Bowen on a screen pass. Wirt defensive back Wes Valentine tripped up Bowen at the Tigers' 20, but Bowen kept his footing and made his way into the end zone for the 14-8 lead.
Wirt converted just one first down while punting on its next two possessions. After holding off Valley in the red zone with under two minutes left in regulation, the Tigers took possession one last time at their own 26.
Consecutive completions from Tigers quarterback Damian Rhodes to receiver Jake Linville moved the ball into Valley territory at the 26. But on the next play, Valley registered its only sack of the contest by Steve Mitchell and the ball was jarred loose. Teammate John Riddle pounced on the fumble for the Greyhounds.
Rhodes led all rushers with 85 yards on 16 carries while Valley's Keyshawn Payne gained a team-high 82 yards on 11 attempts.
Josh Rein caught five of Miller's passes for 145 yards and one score and Brynden "Worm'' Street ran 12 times for 141 yards and one score. Tyler Vernatter added two TD runs for Logan.
Stephen Dilly and Clayton Marcum each had nine tackles to pace the Wildcats defense.
Runyon led all rushers with 67 yards on 13 carries while Conley threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 9 of 14 passing with no interceptions. The Panthers defense limited the Tide to just 36 yards rushing and 110 totally yards.
