The West Virginia Power continued to steam toward the post season as it picked up two wins at Lexington on Sunday by the scores of 4-3 and 1-0.
Josh Bell homered in the first game and second baseman Jimmy Rider drove in three runs as West Virginia earned a 4-3 decision in a game that was suspended due to rain on Saturday. Jason Creasy (6-4) earned the win in relief after giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out five in five innings.
Luis Urena drove in Raul Fortunato with a second-inning single to account for all of the offense in the seven-inning second game.
Thomas Harlan (6-3) got the win in relieve after throwing two perfect innings and striking out three.
The teams will conclude the regular season at 12:05 today. Righty Luis Heredia will get the nod for the Power and Lexington will counter with Daniel Stumpf.
West Virginia will host Hagerstown in the first game of the playoffs at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday.
WVU WOMEN WIN: The No. 10 West Virginia women's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over Morehead State on Sunday in Morgantown.
