D.J. Mendenhall of Urbana, Griff Yocum and Rod White of West Liberty and Levi Barber of Shepherd have been named Mountain East Conference football players of the week.
Mendenhall claimed offensive player of the week honors, while White and Barber shared the defensive player of the week award. Yocum was named the special teams player of the week.
Mendenhall paced Urbana to a 39-19 win over Notre Dame College. He finished with 393 passing yards and three touchdowns and is second in the country in passing yards with 843 through two games.
White came up with two critical red-zone interceptions to help West Liberty get past Glenville State 16-13. White also finished with four tackles. Barber recorded seven solo tackles, including a tackle for a loss for Shepherd in a 27-7 win over Fairmont State.
Yocum's punting helped West Liberty control field position in a win over Glenville State. The sophomore from Glen Dale punted nine times for an average of 39.8 yards with a long of 59 yards.
