CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Gilmer County fell behind by two touchdowns in the third quarter but dominated the game's remaining minutes to defeat visiting Buffalo 61-46 in high school football Friday night.
After Buffalo's Jordan Tucker scored four early touchdowns, including three in succession on runs of 7, 4 and 76 yards, the Bison (0-5) had a 34-18 lead in the third quarter.
But Gilmer (3-2) outscored Buffalo 43-12 thereafter, highlighted by three Austin Ratliff touchdown runs and two Austin Cunningham scoring passes.
The victory offset a big night by Tucker, who rushed 30 times for 296 yards and five touchdowns. He also scored on an 80-yard kickoff return.
Gilmer's Cunningham completed 19 of 23 passes for 260 yards and four TDs. He also scored on a 2-yard run.
PARKERSBURG 35, MARIETTA 10: Aaron Roberts rushed for 152 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown, on just 13 carries as the Big Reds defeated visiting Marietta, Ohio.
Parkersburg racked up 338 yards on the ground in controlling the time of possession.
Chandler Hamilton ran for 83 yards on 10 carries, including a 39-yard TD, and Chase Shank added 67 yards rushing and two scores for the Big Reds (2-2).
Garrett Davis scored a touchdown and had 15 tackles for Marietta (1-4).
ROANE 37, BRAXTON 19: Luke Scott carried 33 times for 214 yards and two touchdowns, helping Roane County break a 13-all tie and defeat visiting Roane County.
Scott scored on runs of 10 and 7 yards as Roane improved to 3-2. Braxton's Jared Pitchford rushed 13 times for 85 yards and two TDs on two 3-yard runs. The Eagles dropped to 0-5.
