Allen Cross rushed 25 times for 156 yards and a touchdown and Jabre Lolley added 17 carries for 104 yards and two scores to lead Shepherd University to a 28-9 Mountain East Conference win over the University of Charleston Saturday in Shepherdstown.
Junior quarterback Trae Tinsman connected on 6 of 14 passes for 53 yards for the Rams (5-0 overall, 4-0 MEC). Maurice Leak completed 21 of 31 passes for 154 yards for the Golden Eagles.
Leighton Settle had 11 carries for 71 yards to lead the Charleston ground game. Justin Avery had a game-high 10 tackles for the Golden Eagles (2-3, 2-1).
DUQUESNE 27, WEST LIBERTY 14: At Pittsburgh, Duquesne's defense converted two interceptions and a fumble into first-half touchdowns in a win over West Liberty. Dillon Buechel threw an 18-yard scoring pass to Chris King, who had 10 catches for 127 yards. The win lifts the Dukes to 2-2. For West Liberty (2-3), Dylan Potts had two touchdown receptions.
GLENVILLE 35, WESLEYAN 32: The host Pioneers jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half and held on to edge the Bobcats. Rahmann Lee paced Glenville State with 116 yards and a touchdown rushing. Quarterback Sean Steele completed 14 of 27 passes for 154 yards and a pair of scores.Wesleyan quarterback Jeremy Musselman hit on 32 of 62 attempts for 392 yards and four touchdowns, but was intercepted three times.
NOTRE DAME 59, VIRGINIA-WISE 35: Pedro Powell rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries as Notre Dame College cruised. Quarterback Ray Russ also tossed four TDs, with three going to Mikhall Morgan. For Virginia-Wise, James Long caught 16 passes for 268 yards and four TDs.
CONCORD 34, FAIRMONT 17: The host Lions outscored Fairmont State 24-3 in the second half to rally for a win. Sophomore running back Calvinaugh James led the way with 209 yards rushing and two TDs. Concord junior defensive back Mike Carey picked off two passes. For the Falcons, Brian Novak completed 9 of 18 passes for 168 yards and a score.
