Sophomore running back Allen Cross ran the ball 21 times for 112 yards and three touchdowns to lead unbeaten Shepherd Rams to a 57-17 Mountain East Conference win over Notre Dame College Saturday at Shepherdstown.
Shepherd, ranked No. 11 in Division II, gained 241 rushing yards while holding the Falcons to 61 yards on the ground.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Jeff Ziemba connected on 16 of 24 passes for 126 yards for the Rams (7-0 overall, 6-0 MEC). Ray Russ completed 21 of 40 passes for 175 yards for Notre Dame (3-4, 2-3). Running back Jabre Lolley added 77 yards on the ground for Shepherd and Pedro Powell had 18 carries for 74 yards to lead the Falcons.
CONCORD 49, WESLEYAN 21: Concord rushed for 403 yards in a convincing home victory. Leading the way offensively for the Mountain Lions (5-2, 4-1) was junior Ben Nester, who averaged 6.9 yards per carry as he ran for a career-high 159 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns. Sophomore Calvinaugh Jones ran topped 100 yards for the third time this season, finishing with 106 yards and a touchdown. West Virginia Wesleyan fell to 2-4, 2-5.
GLENVILLE 49, WISE 7: Glenville State racked up 489 yards of total offense with 271 of the yards coming on the ground. Freshman quarterback Sean Steele went 10 for 15 for 132 yards and two touchdowns for the Pioneers (3-4, 3-3). Jeremy Eubank went 23 for 41 for 250 yards with two interceptions and a touchdown for Virginia-Wise (0-7, 0-5), while receiver James Long caught 11 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.
URBANA 32, WEST LIBERTY 13: D.J. Mendenhall fired four touchdown passes and racked up more than 300 yards of total offense to help the Blue Knights (5-2, 5-1) ruin the Hilltoppers' homecoming. Mendenhall completed 21 of 35 passes for 255 yards and four TDs with one interception and rushed for 48 yards on nine carries. Kenjay Trueblood led all rushers with 96 yards for West Liberty (3-4,3-2).
