Bluefield, which leads Wayne by one bonus point for the top spot in AA heading into their clash Friday in Mercer County, have both already wrapped up home field for two rounds if they win their playoff openers.
Bridgeport and Summers County, ranked No. 3 and 4, respectively, by WTOV9.com, have clinched home field for the opening round, while the teams ranked No. 5 to No. 12 - Wyoming East, Fairmont Senior, Sissonville, Frankfort, Mingo Central, Keyser, Nicholas County and Ritchie County - are all in, but none have locked up home field yet.
In control of their playoff fate, but not clinching yet in AA, are teams 13 through 16 - Roane County, Robert C. Byrd, Philip Barbour and Ravenswood.
Chapmanville (5-5), in 18th, isn't eliminated but in a wait-and-see mode.
In Class A, No. 1 Madonna and No. 2 St. Marys have clinched home field for two rounds, and No. 3 Valley Fayette has secured a first-round home game, which will be played at Laidley Field.
Teams ranked fourth through 10th have simply clinched a spot somewhere in the top 16 - Clay-Battelle, Man, Moorefield, Greenbrier West, Wahama, Williamstown and Meadow Bridge.
Controlling their playoff status are teams 11 to 15 - East Hardy, Notre Dame, Tucker County, Doddridge County and Bishop Donahue. Win and they're in. The only other teams alive are Magnolia, Parkersburg Catholic and Wheeling Central.
