Other individual leaders: Gator Hoskins in receiving TDs (seven) and Essray Taliaferro in rushing TDs (eight).
For Tulsa, Shawn Jackson is fourth nationally in solo tackles (6.7), Trey Watts is fifth in all-purpose yardage (170.56) and Michael Mudoh is seventh in total tackles (10.9). Team-wise, the Golden Hurricane is No. 2 nationally in fewest penalty yards (28.22), third in fewest penalties (3.33) and sixth in sacks allowed (0.78), and leads the league in all those categories. Conversely, Tulsa is 13th in C-USA in fumbles lost (13) and 122nd in turnover margin (minus-1.4).
Milestones: For now, Cato won't rise in the Herd's career major passing categories for some time. He is third in attempts (1,185), completions (769) and touchdown passes (75), and fourth in passing yards (8,605) and total yardage (8,893). His career completion rate is 64.895 percent, below No. 1 Byron Leftwich's 65.118. ... Tommy Shuler is seventh in receptions (189), 10 behind Cody Slate, and Gator Hoskins is 10th with 20 TD catches, two behind Jim Swierczek.
300 Passing yards for Cato. Somewhat amazingly, he has thrown for 300 yards just once this year. If Tulsa loads up on the run, this will be No. 2.

Completely useless trivia
With two games remaining, Marshall is 21-28 all-time against schools that have or will depart for the American Athletic Conference. Those schools already departed are Central Florida, Houston, Memphis and Southern Methodist; teams leaving after 2013-14 are Tulane, Tulsa and East Carolina.
Marshall gets two extra days to take a breath before continuing its tour of new members' venues. On Nov. 23, the Herd plays at Florida International, which is one blocked field goal at Southern Mississippi from being winless.
