Roundup: Holmes leads WVU women past Virginia
Bria Holmes had a team-high 19 points as the West Virginia women's basketball team defeated Virginia 68-58 in Morgantown on Sunday.
Asya Bussie contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers (4-1) and Taylor Palmer had 10 points.
Ataira Franklin led all scorers with 23 points, including six 3-pointers, for the Cavs (3-2), while Lexie Gerson chipped in 10.
MU WOMEN LOSE: Lashonda Littleton connected on a pair of free throws with just one second left, sending Indiana State past host Marshall 68-67 on Sunday in front of a crowd of 457.
Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir led all scorers with 17 points for the Sycamores (3-2), while Anna Munn and Marina Larmie each chipped in 13.
Erica Woods had 13 points to pace Marshall (1-3), while Chukwuka Ezeigbo, Leah Scott, and McKenzie Akers each scored 10 points.
TECH MEN FALL: The WVU Tech men's basketball team fell to Washington Adventist 78-72 in the final game of the Barber Scotia Shootout in Concord, N.C. on Sunday.
Leon Cooper Jr. had 18 points to pace Tech (8-2). Jauries Thomas (13), Brandon Burgraff (11), Armond Perez (11), and Jaren Marino (10) each finished in double figures.
