Mychal Johnson added 19 points and Griffin Dempsey scored 15 for the Fighting Irish (4-1), who are the Class A five-time defending state champion. Monica Mitchell recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Wildcats (0-2), who were AAA state runners-up last season.
SUMMERS 78, CLAY 73: Brandy Morrison poured in 36 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as Summers County outlasted Clay County in double-overtime in the championship game of the Rogers Oil Classic at Pocahontas County.
Whittney Justice chipped in 15 points and Avery Pivont 13 the Bobcats (4-0). Katelyn Horrocks led the Panthers (2-1) with 16 points.
WYOMING EAST 70, OAK HILL 24: Chiara Jewell tallied 15 points as the Warriors routed the host Red Devils. Megan Davis recorded 10 points for Wyoming East (2-1). For Oak Hill (1-3), Savannah Keffer had six.
ST. ALBANS 80, POINT PLEASANT 13: Breanna Propst scored 20 points as St. Albans rolled to a win over visiting Point Pleasant. Lexie Cooper added 15 points for the Red Dragons (2-1) and Haleigh Legg scored 12.
PIKEVIEW 64, CHAPMANVILLE 50: Lyndsay Hatfield scored 17 points to lead PikeView to a win on the road. Lauryn Hatfield added 12 points for the Panthers (3-0), while Madison May and Courtney White each scored 11. Kristin DesRocher had 20 points for the Tigers (2-1).
