Prep basketball: King leads Hoover girls

Hannah King netted 11 points as Herbert Hoover posted a 43-27 road win against Poca Monday night in girls basketball.

Bailey Aab added nine points for the Huskies (2-1). Casey Skeen had a game-high 17 points for Poca (0-2).

  • WESTSIDE 55, PIKEVIEW 39: Hope Lester exploded for 18 points, including her 1,000th career point, as Westside recorded a road win.
  • Faith Davis scored 13 points for the Renegades (2-0), while Megan Endicott chipped in 12. Courtney White paced PikeView (3-1) with 15 points.

  • MIDLAND TRAIL 61, NEW LIFE 30: Madison Syner netted 12 points as Midland Trail (2-1) picked up a road win. Rachel Brown had a game-high 24 points for New Life Christian (0-1).
  • Boys basketball

  • VALLEY 67, FAYETTEVILLE 39: Raeshawn Breckenridge's 12 points paced four players in double figures for the debuting host Greyhounds.
  • Henry Barron-Houchins added 11 points for Valley, while Keyshawn Payne and Tracy Conliffe donated 10 apiece. Will Dooley dropped in nine points for the Pirates.

  • TYGARTS VALLEY 50, HIGHLAND 43: Jace Kyle had 23 points and Keighan Chewning 13 as the Bulldogs (1-1) earned a road win. Shane Pitsenbarger led Highland County (Va.) with 17 points.
