Roundup: WVU Tech men dropped

Miles Rice netted 19 points while Quin Richardson chipped in 17 as Campbellsville (Ky.) rolled to a 101-83 win over the WVU Tech men's basketball team Thursday in Campbellsville, Ky.


Eric Gaines also had 14 points for the Tigers (5-5).

The Golden Bears (8-7) were led by Brandon Burgraff and Jauries Thomas, scoring 17 points apiece.

Jaren Marino also had a double-double for WVU Tech with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

  • MU WOMEN WIN: The Marshall University women's basketball team shot 63 percent from the field in the second half to outlast visiting Wofford 71-56 Thursday in Huntington.

    Norrisha Victrum led the Herd (4-5) with 24 points and eight assists. AJ Johnson added 18 points, including four 3-pointers.

  • WVU SOCCER: WVU women's soccer team members Frances Silva and Kadeisha Buchanan were named to the Best XI, recognizing 33 upperclassmen and 22 freshmen for outstanding performances in 2013.

    Silva was named to the upperclassman second team and Buchanan earned freshman first-team honors.

    The All-Big 12 first-team performers started all 23 games for WVU this season.

    Silva led the conference in goals (15), assists (13) and points (43) and Buchanan helped the Mountaineer defense post 10 shutouts this season, including four in postseason play.
