Noah Toops posted 17 points as host Herbert Hoover defeated Clay County 54-45 in boys high school basketball Friday night.
Matt Justice added 16 points for the Huskies (1-4). Chris Cole, Jarrod Woodyard and Noah Taylor had nine points each for Clay County.

Zac Casto netted 13 points for Chapmanville (4-0) and Joe Tackett added 12. Jake Ashley had eight points for Lincoln County (0-5).

May had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Sigman had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Lafauci scored 11 and Kirk Price had 10 for Scott (5-1). Wayne fell to 2-1.
n PARK. SOUTH 91, LEWIS 76: Logan Lawrentz scored 17 points as Parkersburg South secured a home win. Cody Monroe added 14 points for the Patriots (4-0), while Garrett Gilkeson had 13. John Riley netted a game-high 29 points for Lewis County (1-1).
n ROANE 79, WEBSTER 60: Tyler Harper exploded for 30 points as Roane Country recorded the home win. Jacob Neal added 16 for the Raiders (4-1). Dalton Davis paced Webster County (0-4) with 13 points.
