Prep roundup: South Charleston rolls past Ripley 82-48

South Charleston outscored host Ripley 23-6 in the second quarter and rolled to an 82-48 boys basketball win Friday night.

Brandon Knapper led the Black Eagles (7-1) with 17 points and Tre Clark and Anthony Billings each scored 10. Kade Harrison posted 15 points to lead the Vikings.

  • WOODROW 60, WINFIELD 43: All-state guard Donte Nabors returned from a four-game absence with an ankle injury to score a team-high 12 points for host Woodrow Wilson (5-2).
  • The Flying Eagles broke away from a 31-24 halftime lead. Bear Bellomy led the Generals (5-3) with 16 points.

  • NOTRE DAME 65, CATHOLIC 60: Cal Cistaro scored 17 points and hauled in nine rebounds as host Notre Dame edged out a victory. P
  • hil Chafin chipped in 14 points and Jarrod West 13 for Notre Dame (9-2). Nick George led Charleston Catholic (5-2) with a game-high 27 points and 13 rebounds and Garret McCarty scored 22.

  • SPRING VALLEY 68, PRINCETON 55: Jacob Kilgore exploded for a game-high 27 points as Spring Valley cruised past host Princeton. Greg Herbert scored 18 and James Keyser netted 10 for the Timberwolves (4-3).
  • Colton Fix led the Tigers with 19 points and Aaron Ferguson scored 14.

  • PARK. SOUTH 71, WHEELING PARK 65: Parkersburg South overcame an 11-point first quarter deficit and pulled out a home victory.
  • Tyler Berry led South (10-0) with a game-high 22 points and Cody Monroe added 14 points and seven assists. Ryan Reinbeau led Wheeling Park (10-3) with 20 points.

  • GREEN. EAST 81, LOGAN 64: Rondale Watson scored 20 points as Greenbrier East won at home.
  • Obi Romeo, Josh Tunstalle and Tyler Canterbury each had 16 points for the Spartans (9-3). Zac Acord paced Logan (4-6) with 22 points.

  • WYOMING EAST 76, PIKEVIEW 53: Jordan Hayes tallied 14 points and Christian Blankenship added 11 as Wyoming East (7-1) picked up a home win.
  • Seth Wood and Zach Meadows each had 12 points for PikeView (3-4).

  • POINT 62, LINCOLN COUNTY 36: Point Pleasant went on 17-3 run in the fourth quarter to put away visiting Lincoln County.
  • Aden Yates led the Big Blacks (6-6) with 19 points and Garrett Norris scored 12. Jake Ashley led the Panthers (3-7) with 16 points.

  • CALVARY BAPTIST 54, GRACE 49: Trent Spears poured in 31 points as Calvary Baptist pulled out a home win in overtime.
  • Julian Fleshman scored seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds for Calvary (7-3). Nathan Welch led Grace Christian (3-5) with 11 points.

  • TEAYS VALLEY 71, OHIO VALLEY 59: Jace Heller led four double-figure scorers with 23 points for visiting Teays Valley Christian.
  • Zack Moore added 17 points for the Lions followed by Vlad Novak with 15 and Parker D'Antoni with 13. T.G. Miller led all scorers with 30 points for Ohio Valley Christian and Marshall Hood chipped in with 13 points.

    Girls

  • BUFFALO 63, HEDGESVILLE 54: Chelsea Parkins poured in 29 points as Buffalo earned a semifinal victory in the 10th St. Marys Invitational.
  • Olivia Dunn chipped in 12 points for the Bison and Paige Roush 10. Carley Elliott paced Hedgesville with 22 points. Buffalo meets St. Marys in the title game tonight at 7:30.

  • ST. ALBANS 65, POINT 12: Cameron Davis posted 16 points as St. Albans cruised to a road win over Point Pleasant.
  • Breanna Propst added 14 points for the Red Dragons (8-2). Charli Leach had five points for the Big Blacks.

  • HOOVER 72, MINGO 50: Bethany Romine tallied 16 points and Bailey Aab 14 for the Herbert Hoover (7-1) in a road win.
  • Ashley Curry posted a game-high 18 points for Mingo Central (5-5).

  • CHAPMANVILLE 49, SCOTT 37: Hilary Hainer poured in 17 points as host Chapmanville prevailed.
  • Kristin DesRocher chipped in 11 points and Alysa Meeks 10 for the Tigers (8-4). Andrea Rankin led the Skyhawks with nine points.

  • CROSS LANES 58, WOOD COUNTY 56: Courtney Kendrick posted 23 points and 18 rebounds as host Cross Lanes Christian won.
  • Kathryn Legg scored 14 points and Laura Jones added eight points and 11 rebounds for Cross Lanes (10-2). Heather Lord led Wood County Christian with 34 points.

    Thursday's girls games

  • POCAHONTAS 56, PENDLETON 41: Tristin Day netted 22 points for visiting Pocahontas County and Bobbie McNabb added 15 points for the Warriors (8-2).
  • Kaylee Edwards scored 12 points for Pendleton (5-7) and Michaela Raines 11.

  • NICHOLAS 39, POCA 33: Carrie Huffman and Mykenzie Martin netted 10 points each as Nicholas County earned a home win. Casey Skeens led Poca (2-8) with a game-high 18 points.
