Prep roundup: Poca boys top Sissonville 79-47

Luke Frampton recorded a triple-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as Poca defeated visiting Sissonville 79-47 Friday night in high school basketball.

Elijah Cuffe paced the Dots (8-1) with a game-high 24 points. Chase Brown had 11 points for Sissonville (5-6).

  • WAYNE 62, CHAPMANVILLE 59 (OT): Grant Ferguson's 24th point, a free throw with 12 seconds left in overtime, put the visiting Pioneers ahead for good.
  • After Ferguson's free throw, the Pioneers regained possession and Seth Napier scored his only two points from the line. Kenny Plumley's halfcourt heave at the buzzer missed, giving Wayne (7-5) the victory.

    Nate Earl added 13 points for Wayne. Josh Butcher led Chapmanville (9-2) with 29 points. Plumley scored 15.

  • BUFFALO 83, VALLEY WETZEL 55: Buffalo led 57-20 at halftime and handled visiting Valley Wetzel in the first round of the West Virginia Home Invitational Tournament. Brad Harris led the Bison (7-5) with 14 points and Laythen Good (13), Isaiah Robison (11) and Gabe Garrison all scored in double figures. Joey Preat led the Lumberjacks (4-8) with 14 points and John Wells netted 13.
  • WYOMING EAST 112, INDEPENDENCE 53: Wyoming East stormed out to a commanding 55-14 lead at halftime and rolled to a road victory. Austin Canada led the Warriors (8-1) with 20 points and David Carte chipped in 15. Chris Mills led the Patriots (0-11) with 17 points.
  • BRAXTON 73, CALHOUN 63: Cody Hilton exploded for 32 points as Braxton County won at home. Thomas Pritt added 18 points for the Eagles (3-7). Ryan Miller tallied 23 for Calhoun County (3-7) while Tyler Sims had 13.
  • SHADY SPRING 81, SUMMERS 67: Shady Spring had four players score in double figures in a win over host Summers County. Jordan Meadows led the Tigers with 21 points and Steven Chhabra netted 19. Terry Smith led the Bobcats (4-5) with 21 points and Jacob Lively scored 17.
  • RIPLEY 55, RAVENS-WOOD 41: Kade Harrison scored 16 points to lead Ripley to a home win. Drew Harpold added 14 points for the Vikings. Isaac Crow led the Red Devils with 11 points.
  • TEAYS VALLEY 58, CALVARY 39: Jace Heller scored 16 points while Parker D'Antoni and Zack Moore chipped in 13 apiece as Teays Valley Christian (12-5) won at home. Julian Fleshman had a game-high 19 points for Calvary Baptist.

  • HUNTINGTON 82, WINFIELD 51: Dazha Congleton scored 20 points and Jordyn Dawson added 18 as Huntington rolled to a road win. Haylea Roberson netted 25 points for Winfield (5-5).
  • SC 72, HURRICANE 40: Aaliyah Dunham posted 16 points for visiting South Charleston, while Taliah Cashwell contributed 14. Abby Watson recorded a game-high 30 points for Hurricane (7-5).
  • HERBERT HOOVER 48, CHAPMANVILLE 40: Caroline Thornburg made four free throws in the final two minutes to give Herbert Hoover its seventh straight win. Thornburg finished with 14 points to lead the Huskies (8-1) and Bailey Aab recorded 13 points and eight rebounds. Alysa Meeks led the Tigers (9-5) with 11 points.
  • WHEELING CENTRAL 49, CATHOLIC 44: Regan Blaha posted 18 points as Wheeling Central (8-5) defeated host Charleston Catholic. Vida Imani amassed 16 points for the Irish (9-3) while Anna Whelan chipped in 12.
  • CAPITAL 52, RIVERSIDE 31: Capital jumped out to a 13-4 first-quarter lead as the Cougars cruised at Riverside. India Hairston led Capital (4-8) with 16 points and Alex Gray and Dashia Foster both scored 15. Kara Knapp led the Warriors (1-7) with 10 points.
  • FAYETTEVILLE 55, SHERMAN 50: Madie Pritt led all scorers with 20 points as Fayetteville edged visiting Sherman. Kendall Malay recorded 16 points and Alvina Sedlock scored 13 for the Pirates (7-4). Bailey Harless led the Tide (3-5) with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
  • CROSS LANES 76, OHIO VALLEY 25: Courtney Kendrick tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds as host Cross Lanes Christian routed Ohio Valley Christian. Laura Jones added 10 points and 13 rebounds for Cross Lanes (10-2) and Abby Jeffrey (13), Juliana Lowery (11) and Katheryn Legg (10) all scored double figures. Emily Carman led Ohio Valley (6-10) with 12 points.
