Roundup: WVU hockey team doubles-up Pitt 6-3
Junior Zack LaDuke scored three goals as the West Virginia University hockey team defeated Pittsburgh 6-3 Sunday at the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena.
Trey Bracy, Nick Burt and Eric Pawlick also scored goals for the Mountaineers.
MU WOMEN LOSE: Marshall shot just 31.1 percent from the floor as it dropped an 80-62 decision to Tulsa at home on Saturday.
Suporia Dickens led all scorers with 21 points and added 11 boards for the Thundering Herd (7-11 overall, 0-5 Conference USA) while A.J. Johnson and Leah Scott chipped in with 10 points apiece.
Kelsee Grovey scored 20 to lead Tulsa (9-7, 3-2) followed by Ashley Clark with 14, Kadan Brady with 13, and Loren McDaniel with 10.
WVU TECH WRESTLING: West Virginia University finished third at the inaugural West Virginia Collegiate Wrestling Championships at West Liberty.
Sophomore Dirk Ponchak and freshman Tola Morakinyo each placed second in their respective weight classes, while freshman Colton Rowe finished third and freshman Wyatt Norfolk placed fourth.
