Cedric Harris erupted for 25 points as West Liberty cruised to a 103-71 win over the University of Charleston in men's basketball Saturday in West Liberty.
Devin Hoehn contributed 17 points for the Hilltoppers (17-1, 13-1 Mountain East Conference), who suffered a 89-87 loss to Notre Dame College Thursday, ending their 60-game home conference winning streak.
Tino diTrapano netted 16 points for the Golden Eagles (13-5, 10-4) while Denzel Douglas added 15.
STATE MEN LOSE: Justin Fritts and Andre Harris combined for 51 points as Wheeling Jesuit rolled to a 103-84 win over West Virginia State in Wheeling.
Fritts exploded for a game-high 28 points for the Cardinals (9-8, 7-7 MEC) while Harris added 23. Bo King led the Yellow Jackets (7-10, 4-10) with 23 points and Dominic Phillips had 17.
TECH MEN LOSE: Devin Miller poured in 27 points as Davis & Elkins (13-10) secured a 70-65 home win over WVU Tech in Elkins.
Stephen Coles tallied 22 points for the Golden Bears (10-9) while Brandon Burgraff chipped in 12.
UC WOMEN LOSE: Nichole Perry's driving attempt with four seconds left would not go down as host West Liberty held off Charleston 46-45.
Monet Saunders paced the Golden Eagles (12-6, 8-6 MEC) with 12 points. Bri Kamarec netted 12 points for the Hilltoppers (12-8, 9-5).
STATE WOMEN LOSE: Wheeling Jesuit used an 11-1 run in the second half to post a 75-64 win over West Virginia State in Wheeling.
Lexy Carson and India Taste led the Jackets (13-7, 9-5 MEC) with 14 points apiece. Taneka Lewis netted 19 points for the Cardinals (9-9, 6-8) while Taylor Lubinsky had 13 points.
TECH WOMEN LOSE: WVU Tech dropped an 81-70 contest against the University of Pikeville at the Baisi Athletic Center in Montgomery.
Tech (5-12) was led by Elizabeth Evans with 21 points while Cheyanna Lusk had 18. Khalilah Quigley scored 21 points to lead Pikeville (10-12).
