HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Former Marshall quarterback Blake Frohnapfel has committed to play his final two years at Massachusetts, he announced Tuesday via Twitter.
Frohnapfel left the Thundering Herd program on good terms after his redshirt sophomore season. The reason was simple - he has no realistic chance to vault past Rakeem Cato into the starting job.
That may not be a problem at UMass, which finished 1-11 last fall. The Minutemen's only win came against Mid-American Conference doormat Miami (Ohio).
Frohnapfel completed his Marshall degree, so he has two years of eligibility and does not have to sit out a year.
