Chelsea Kirby scored 13 points as Winfield edged visiting Riverside 56-55 in girls basketball Tuesday.
Karley Rogers scored 12 points and Katherine Bryant 10 for the Generals. Brittany Wood led the Warriors with a game-high 28 points and Rachel Mills scored 11.
Riverside hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds to cut the lead to one, but Winfield was able to run out the clock.
Buffalo 72, Wirt 67: Katie Allen scored 21 points as Buffalo slipped past visiting Wirt County. Chelsea Parkins scored 16 points and Olivia Dunn posted 14 points for the Bison (9-5). Liz Adams led the Tigers with 21 points and Gwynn Smith added 12.
Hoover 87, Tolsia 45: Bethany Romine poured in 28 points and Hannah Schoolcraft added 11 points as host Herbert Hoover (11-1) won easily. Savannah Winnett led Tolsia (3-9) with 14.
Teays Valley 35, Grace 33: Holly Edwards scored 12 points as host Teays Valley Christian (7-6) was able to hold on to win. Shelby Cicernas had 13 points for Grace Christian (8-6).
Sherman 62, Elk Valley 52: Sherman had four players in double figures against visiting Elk Valley Christian. Sarah Massey led the Tide (6-6) with 15 points and Kendra Pannell and Baylee Harless each scored 12. Hannah Williams led Elk Valley (11-7) with 21 points and Jamie Brown had 17.
PikeView 47, Nicholas County 29: Madison May posted 15 points and 11 rebounds as PikeView rolled to a road victory. Alexis May added 14 points for the Panthers (10-3) and MaKayla Willis led the Grizzlies with 14.
Clay 53, Braxton 24: McKinzee Barker poured in 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Class AA No. 7 Clay County won at home. Katelyn Horrocks chipped in 10 points for the Panthers (13-3). Emily Harper scored six points for Braxton County.
Sissonville 84, Wayne 32: Brittney Gould and Madison Jones scored 24 and 23 points, respectively, for visiting Sissonville. Karli Pinkerton tossed in 13 points and Mariah Youngblood 10 for the Class AA No. 5 Indians (12-2). Emily Marsh had 14 points for Wayne.
Westside 65, Logan 63: Logan's Shayna Gore missed a 3-pointer and Westside came up with a defensive stop with 11 seconds left as it hung on for a road win. Hope Lester led the Renegades (11-2) with 34 points and Faith Davis tossed in 13. Gore finished with 32 points for the Wildcats (10-6) and Kyra Collins posted 14.
Winfield 67, Nitro 62: Haylea Roberson's 20 points led four double-figure scorers for the host Generals, who led by 11 after three quarters. Cheyenne Sawyers scored 14 and Chelsea Kirby and Karley Rogers had 12 each. Savannah Shamblin led Nitro with 25 points, with Tiffany Reavis and Halie Miller tallied 14 apiece.
