Every South Charleston player scored as coach Vic Herbert recorded his 100th victory with the Black Eagles on Wednesday, a 92-30 decision over Nitro in a boys high school basketball matchup at the South Charleston Community Center.
Brandon Knapper scored 13 points for the Black Eagles (16-1), who soared to a 29-8 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back. SC's A.D. Cunningham added 12 and freshman Tamon Scruggs 10. Herbert has earned 100 wins in only five seasons.
Ryan Eary had 11 points for the Wildcats.
Sorsaia finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Hurricane (14-4), while Ace Estep pitched in 16 points. Collin Bellomy's 12 points paced the Knights (3-14).
Jacob Kilgore scored 21 points and Greg Herbert 12 for Spring Valley (10-6). Bear Bellamy led Winfield (10-7) with 18 points and Zack Fisher chipped in 15.
Hunter McCoy tossed in 15 points and Austin McVey 13 for Wirt (5-10). Cody Hilton led Braxton (3-13) with 18 points and McKinley Moore totaled 15.
ReSean Whitfield added 10 points and Chancelor Wooding landed 10 boards for Huntington. Kevic Watkins came off the bench to score 20 points for the Red Dragons and Jeffrey Seams had 13.
Caroline Thornburg netted 21 points for Hoover (15-3), which outscored Chapmanville 11-2 in the four-minute extra period. The Huskies' Hannah King donated 13 points. Kristen Desrocher tallied a game-high 28 points for the Tigers (12-7) and Alysa Meeks had 10.
Anna Hayton tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds for defending state champion South (17-0) and Katelyn Byrd added 15 points and 10 boards. Regan Blaha led the Class A Maroon Knights with 17 points.
Rachael Mills turned in 16 points for the Warriors (2-12) and Brittany Wood contributed 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Hailey Miller scored 21 points for Ravenswood (12-4), which trailed 44-36 heading into the fourth. Claudia Cubides pitched in a season-high 15 points for Ravenswood and Mariah Jackson tied her season-best with 10. Sydney Reed poured in 34 points for Tyler and Sophia Kinnard had 15.
