Winfield 77, Logan 75: Zach Fisher racked up 26 points, including the first five points of overtime, as the Generals rallied from a 15-point deficit to take down Logan.
Bear Bellomy had 22 points and Brandon Wright nine rebounds for the Generals (11-9), who snapped a four-game losing streak. Toby Show fouled out in the fourth quarter but donated 17 points before his departure.
For Logan, Brynden "Worm'' Street hit 10 of 11 shots and scored 22 points with six rebounds. Zak Miller netted five 3-pointers and scored 15 points for the Wildcats. Zach Acord scored 12 points and Trevor Abbott 11. Braxton Goff landed 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, who led off the boards 36-30.
Logan led 48-33 when Miller drained back-to-back 3s late in the third quarter. But Winfield kept clawing back, forcing 11 Logan turnovers in the second half and OT to fuel the rally.
Bellomy's 3 at the two-minute mark of the fourth quarter gave the Generals a 63-61 lead and Logan forced OT when Acord made both ends of a 1-and-1 with 1:23 remaining.
All players and cheerleaders wore orange socks in support of leukemia awareness.
St. Joseph 69, Liberty Raleigh 40: Keith Clemons tossed in 20 points to lead top-ranked St. Joseph over Liberty Raleigh in the opening high school game of the Shootout at the Big House.
Payne Meadows added 14 points for the Irish, the No. 1 team in Class A, and Travis McNeil had 12 points.
For the Raiders, Trevor McGhee tallied 13 points and Richardson Hairston added 10.
St. Joseph 76, Logan 49: The Irish girls, the five-time Class A state champions who, like their boys, are also ranked No. 1, won a showdown of teams that played in their respective state finals last year.
Rachel Lee, a 5-foot-8 senior, knocked down seven 3-pointers and led St. Joe with 28 points. All-stater Mychal Johnson tallied 18 points and Griffin Dempsey 14. The Irish hit 13 3s in all, about two above their average.
The Wildcats, ranked No. 10 in Class AAA, were undone by sub-par shooting and ball-handling, committing 19 turnovers, eight more than St. Joe.
Monica Mitchell scored 22 points to lead Logan and Shayne Gore added 13 points and five assists.
