NCAA OKs Herd's Rouse for sixth season
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall will have the services of defensive tackle James Rouse this fall, as the NCAA has approved his waiver to remain in the Thundering Herd's program for a sixth year.
The result was hardly a surprise, as Rouse's situation was considered a textbook example of the sixth-year rule. He redshirted in his freshman season of 2009, had his 2011 season cut short by injury, and lost 2012 to injury.
In 2013, the 6-foot-5, 268-pound Rouse led the team in tackles for loss with 14 and sacks with six.
