Midland's Burcham second in Penn Relays

Cabell Midland's Jacob Burcham finished second in the high school boys mile run championship Friday at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Burcham, a junior, completed the race in 4 minutes, 9.49 seconds, besting his own West Virginia mile record. He finished third in 2011 with a time of 4:11.63.

Craig Engels of Ronald Reagan High School in Pfafftown, N.C., won with a time of 4:09.42.
