Ray realizes that a timely decision is necessary since the 11-week regular season has passed the halfway point and teams need to know their playoff status.
"We'd like to move on this as quickly as possible,'' he said.
Martinsburg High School officials are standing behind their decision to continue to play Watkins, despite the uncertainty regarding his eligibility.
"The administration of Martinsburg High School feels strongly that Malique Watkins is and always has been eligible to play football,'' the school said in a statement released last Friday.
The SSAC doesn't often lose final decisions in a court of law, but Ray isn't about to jump to conclusions.
"Again, I have the utmost respect for the judicial procedure and so forth,'' he said. "Once we hear from them, we'll see what direction we need to go.''
