UTAP has clinched its seventh straight losing season, with one 6-7 campaign including a bowl loss. Is coach Mike Price on his way out after nine years?

That's not as certain as this: Freshman Blaire Sullivan is expected to get his first start against UCF, possibly unseating struggling quarterback Nick Lamaison. Sullivan engineered four touchdowns in the second half against Houston two weeks ago, throwing for two and rushing for 53 yards.

The UCF-UTEP game matches the deans of Conference USA coaching in Price and George O'Leary. With the Knights moving to the Big East, a Price firing would put the "dean" title on two unlikely candidates - Rice's David Bailiff and Mario Cristobal of incoming Florida International. Both would enter their seventh season in 2013.

  • Memphis played in front of about 18,000 fans last week against Marshall. In the next three weeks, the Tigers might not see that many live bodies combined.

The Tigers' last three opponents - Tulane, Alabama-Birmingham and Southern Mississippi - have a combined record of 4-23. The first and last of those are played at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium; the middle game at Legion Field.

Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast drew the shortest of short draws, getting stuck with the Memphis-Southern Miss game at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 24. Of course, the Golden Eagles were an attractive bet when the schedule was set, as they were defending C-USA champions.
