CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Marshall received a consolation prize for its 1-2 trip to Hofstra, as DeAndre Kane was named Conference USA's basketball player of the week.

Kane averaged 22.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 9.0 assists in the three games at the 2K Sports Classic in Hempstead, N.Y., including a triple-double Sunday against host Hofstra. Kane recorded the fourth triple-double in Marshall history with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

The previous three came from Hassan Whiteside, the 7-foot shot-blocker whose only season was 2009-10.
