Herd's Hunter, WVU's Austin All-America picks

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Marshall linebacker D.J. Hunter earned a second-team spot on Phil Steele's Freshman All-America football team.

Hunter, a redshirt freshman from Middletown, Ohio, played in every game and started the last 11 at strongside linebacker for the Herd, piling up 102 tackles (the most among freshmen linebackers in C-USA) to go with 31/2 tackles for loss, two pass breakups and a forced fumble.

Also, West Virginia's Tavon Austin was selected as a return specialist on the Pro Football Weekly All-America team.
